In your own time through our website (Available from Tuesday 28 September)

Joanne Hichens, author most recently of the highly praised memoir Death and the After Parties, but better known as a writer of crime fiction (Divine Justice, Sweet Paradise) is conspiring with fellow crime specialist Michele Rowe (What Hidden Lies, Hours of Darkness) to present an introduction to crime writing at our Saturday workshop.

It’ll be of benefit to literally anyone interested in a life of crime (writing) – whether they’re accomplished or just beginning. Cat burglars are especially welcome.

Our workshops are conducted in a spirit of fun, by people who find joy in creative endeavour. This will be a safe space for like-minded people to practise their creativity. Comment and feedback will be – according to our motto – honest but kind.

The workshop will consist of:

  • A discussion on crime writing, either live or recorded
  • A writing prompt
  • Writing time
  • Live participants will read out their writing and receive immediate feedback on it – or not if they aren’t keen
  • Online participants will email their writing in for written feedback
